Dr. Jacob Bickels, Rehovot, Israel

Dr. Jacob Bickels is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel.  He recently purchased a Quadrapod Elite Copy Stand for use in his laboratory to collect and catalog images of animal tumors as the disease progresses.  Dr. Bickels sub-speciality is in the management of bone and soft tissue tumors.

In the insert, this image reveals a large agressive cancer (soft-tissue sarcoma) on the back of a mouse.

Dr. Bickels uses a Nikon D850 digital camera that captures a 45.7 megapixel full-frame image and is equipped with a 60 mm f2.8 micro-Nikkor lens.  The camera is mounted on the Quadrapod Elite.  One unique feature on the D850 camera body is the TFT monitor that allows it to tilt forward for viewing the subject.  The entire system is located within a laboratory hood.  Configuring the Quadrapod Elite along with the Nikon D850 also allows digital video and audio capture during examinations.
